ADMISSION
A Path of Faith, Education and Consecration
Admission to the Ophidian Synodus is open to those who, beyond professing the Ophidian faith, feel called to assume an active responsibility for its preservation, celebration and future.
Application is the beginning of a process of mutual discernment. It does not constitute admission, nor does it bind the applicant to proceed further.
IS THE SYNODUS FOR YOU?
The Synodus does not seek every Ophidian. Consecrated life is intended for those who desire to place part of their abilities, time and religious life at the service of something greater than their individual practice.
You may wish to consider application if you are prepared to:
Study: to deepen your understanding of Ophidian doctrine, history and liturgical tradition.
Collaborate: to work with others within a common discipline rather than pursuing an entirely individual path.
Persevere: to accept that vocation is demonstrated through constancy as much as enthusiasm.
Assume responsibility: to recognise that belonging to the Synodus entails obligations toward the continuity of the Ophidian tradition.
No previous experience is required. What matters at the beginning is not perfection, but seriousness of intention and willingness to undergo formation.
WHAT HAPPENS AFTER YOU APPLY?
I: APPLICATION
You introduce yourself, your relationship with Ophidism and the reasons that led you to consider Synodal life.
II: CONVERSATION
If your application appears compatible with the nature of the Synodus, you will be invited to an initial conversation. This is an opportunity for both you and the Synodus to ask questions and determine whether further discernment is appropriate.
III: DISCERNMENT
Suitable candidates begin a period in which their vocation, constancy and dedication may be explored through participation in the activities of the Synodus. This is an important moment not only for the Synodus, but also for you: an opportunity to understand whether Synodal life truly corresponds to your needs and expectations.
IV: ADMISSION
After an initial phase of observation and discernment as Postulant and Auditor, you will finally be admitted as Novice if you still wish to join the Institution. During the Novitiate, you will be provided with the first study materials and free courses, together with a personal tutor to oversee your education and liturgical formation.
BEFORE YOU APPLY
You are not expected to possess complete knowledge of Ophidism before contacting the Synodus. Formation exists precisely because knowledge, discipline and aptitude develop over time. However, we will ask you some basic information about our Faith and your previous education to better understand your past and evaluate your application.
What we truly care about is that applications be made sincerely, personally and with a genuine willingness to participate.
If you are merely beginning to explore Ophidism, we recommend first becoming familiar with its teachings and religious life. If, however, you already find yourself asking not only how to live the faith, but how you might serve it, you are welcome to present yourself.
