Begin your Journey in Ophidism

Joining The Ophidian Synodus is a formal process of spiritual and intellectual commitment.

The Ophidian Synodus receives applications from individuals who seek entry into the Ophidian Confession with seriousness, intellectual clarity, and full awareness of the commitments such entry entails. Admission is neither automatic nor encouraged through any form of proselytism. It is granted solely to those who demonstrate a genuine and sustained interest in the doctrine, discipline, and theological identity of the Serpent as preserved and transmitted by the Synodus.

To apply is to request admission into a religious institution governed by canonical statutes and formative norms. Every applicant must understand that membership implies adherence to the doctrinal foundations of Ophidism, respect for the hierarchical order established by the Statuta Synodi, and willingness to undertake the official Didaskalía, which constitutes the sole and mandatory path of education for all members. The Synodus admits only individuals capable of maintaining decorum, confidentiality, and reverent conduct with regard to sacred rites and internal matters.

Applicants must be legally adults according to the laws of their country of residence and must possess sufficient command of the English language to follow synodal communications and examinations. Each applicant is required to submit a short letter of intent explaining their interest in Ophidism, to attest to having read the introductory materials published on the official website, and to explicitly accept the non-proselytic nature of the Synodus. No applicant may request ordination, liturgical offices, or ranks at the time of admission; such responsibilities may be attained only after years of study, formation, and examination, as defined in the Didaskalía.

The admission process unfolds in successive stages. Applications are first examined by the Synodal Secretariat, which may request clarification or additional information where necessary. Suitable candidates are then invited to an online interview, during which doctrinal comprehension, clarity of motivation, ethical disposition, and the capacity to engage with the contemplative and disciplined nature of Ophidism are assessed. Upon approval, the candidate is admitted as a Postulant, the first canonical grade of membership. From that moment, the postulant is required to begin the prescribed curriculum of the Didaskalía, including the study of Latin, foundational doctrine, theological premises, and supervised exposure to liturgical practice, as outlined in the official educational documents.

Failure to meet the educational requirements within the prescribed timeframe results in the automatic termination of the postulancy, in accordance with Synodal Law.

Admission to the Ophidian Synodus entails participation in the liturgical life of the community whenever possible, sustained study of doctrine, and respectful conduct in all synodal contexts. Membership is a religious commitment and a discipline of life; it is not a symbolic affiliation nor a cultural label.

Applications may be submitted through the official form provided on this website. Only applications received through the official channels listed herein are considered valid.
